It's Always Sunny on Thursdays

The best night of TV--Thursdays! It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is beginning to gain more attention, and it's about time! You guys! This show makes me laugh non-stop! I cry from laughing so hard, and usually I can’t even hear the next lines because of said hysteria. How can one show be so gosh darn funny? Because the brilliant minds behind it are sick and twisted individuals who probably live out their sick thoughts through their television alter egos. Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, and Charlie Day are certifiably insane, and this show is proof. But it’s genius in its low-browness. These guys get in a mess of things when they come up with ideas that will make them rich and famous. And every plan fails when they all try to cater to their own self-interests. With Kaitlin Olson (Sweet Dee) and Danny DeVito, the crew makes quite a ruckus, and it’s starting to be heard. Join the fun Thursday nights on FX after The Office!

Season 4 DVD arrives in stores this Tuesday, September 15, and the show picks up with season 5 on Thursday, September 17. Watch and laugh, but be warned, it may be hazardous to your health.

Defying Expectations

Defying Gravity is the new Lost. It's even on the same channel. Let's hope that it doesn't get ridiculous like Lost has. It has a mysterious presence that is controlling events and the characters' courses. A wonderful cast is only trumped by its stunning visuals. It stars Laura Harris of Dead Like Me and Ron Livingston of Office Space. Characters' pasts come to life as we progress through the show. I'm surprised at ABC's increasing television quality. I'm stoked about Courteney Cox's Cougar Town too! Rawr!

Defying Gravity airs on ABC Sunday nights. Watch it, you guys! Because it's already looking to not be renewed because, like many new summer shows, it gets ignored. The only shows EVER to be advertised are reality shows. And ABc tends to have a lot of those.

This is your brain on Tetris!

Tetris is my favorite video game hands down! I remember playing Tetris on my big gray brick original version of the Nintendo Gameboy system for hours when I was younger. I still am addicted to this game and others like it! It's almost therapeutic to line up the blocks and watch the lines disappear as the pace picks up faster and faster as time elapses - it never gets old. In general, I like videogames, but I suck at them. But this is one I feel I can certainly hold my own - and it's nice to see that such a great game has some positive results other than just being an awesome way to spend one's time! Nerd out, smile, and raise your glasses (drinks and/or eyewear) to the recent research that continues to support these positive results of playing this fantastic game!

Site of the Week 8/31-9/6: Dinosaur Comics

Dinosaur Comics, if you've never read, feeds the nerdgasms all over the world. Authored by Canadian Ryan North, Dinosaur Comics is comprised of the same panels day after day, which makes it funny in itself. The comic records the insane thoughts of T-Rex, an adorably sexy and sassy green dinosaur that often talks of possible futures and pasts. Appearing in the panels are Dromiceiomimus, T-Rex's female friend and possible ex-lover, and T-Rex's BFF Utahraptor, T-Rex's foil. Often God, Satan, and even Shakespeare (!!!!) appear as guest stars. You guys, read it and pee your underoos!

Dinosaur Comics

Dear Megan Fox,

So if Edward Cullen is the most over-rated actor in Hollywood right now (which he is in my opinion), I would suggest Megan Fox is the most over-rated actress. While she's got that whole "look at me, look at me" thing going for her (because she is attractive...let's be honest), she has yet to prove to me she's got the chops to truly make her mark in Hollywood as a solid actress. What's really tainted her in my book is her attitude. Everything I've seen her in (interviews, award shows, red carpets, etc.) she just seems so stuck up! Dear Megan Fox - Get over yourself.

In a recent article from Access Hollywood I read on Yahoo.com, Fox recently referred to Transformers 2 movie-director Michael Bay as "a nightmare to work for," likening him to dictating tyrants like Hitler or Napoleon. She claims that Bay "almost killed her" and her fellow Transformers co-star Shia LeBeouf by having them do "insane things that insurance would never let you do." Some would argue that Ms. Fox shouldn't bite the hand that feeds her since Bay played a role in putting Megan Fox on the map. Others would say maybe Director Bay is a bit of hard baller. My opinion? Bay knows how to make a sa-weeeeeet action packed blockbuster film - this we know. And...this just in: Transformers is a sa-weeeeet action packed blockbuster film, action being a movie genre that is typically known for scenes containing lots of stunts, special effects, explosions, and the like. Umm...yeah. Therefore, I imagine working for Michael Bay must be like doing physical therapy - you gotta work hard and at times it might hurt or seem crazy, but you do it anyway and benefit in the long run.

So to you, Megan Fox - if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen...or grow a pair. There are plenty of young hot hollywood starlets who could easily take your role in these blockbuster movies...even one of those girls from High School Musical or something.

Jump with Glee

I'm sure you've all heard about the summer's hit pilot Glee. It just re-aired last night with an added bonus: Matthew Morrison playing guitar and singing "Leaving on a Jetplane." Glee is about the ongoing faction within the high school caste system. The misfits vs the popular kids, with some stuck in the middle as the rope in a game of tug-of-war. It follows the Glee club in its efforts to save itself from being dropped from the school extracurriculars. It's also trying to save itself from the football team and cheerleaders, including the coaches, one of which is played by Jane Lynch. Plus it's got Jayma Mays, the adorable red-head that you might know as Charlie from Heroes. She's also a germophobe on the show, which makes for hilarious scenes. And it's so natural; she does her clean-freak stuff as the cast delivers their lines. The cast is brilliant, and their version of "Don't Stop Believin'" has everyone believing in this show, including many musical artists. Nearly every episode has a guest star, and artists readily agree to give the show permission to use their songs! It's first episode (not including the pilot) debuts next Wednesday at 9/8 central on FOX! We know how FOX loves to cancel stuff, but this show has gotten so much hype and support, I think it'll stick. Lucky for us!
