Director and (former) child actor Fred Savage will reprise his directorial talents on the sophomore season of Happy Endings in the first half of the season. Not only will he lend his hand to that area, but he'll be in front of the camera as a date for Alex. Don't read on if you don't want slight spoilers.
He'll be playing himself, and he'll be a total douchetray, making Alex watch The Princess Bride as he provides her a live commentary. I know a few ladies who wouldn't mind that date, as long as there's also a drinking game involved.
Savage has been known as director for a variety of top-notch comedies, including largely It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Party Down. His style fits with Happy Endings very well, as we know, since he's directed before with the episode "Your Couples Friends & Neighbors".
